Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026. A total of 25,487 vacancies have been announced. Candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th Class) are eligible to apply.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Age Range: 18 - 23 years
As on: January 1, 2026
Age Relaxations:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (After deduction of military service)
- Children of 1984 Riot Victims (UR/EWS): 5 years
- Children of 1984 Riot Victims (OBC): 8 years
- Children of 1984 Riot Victims (SC/ST): 10 years
Educational Qualification
- Matriculation (10th Class) in Any Stream from Recognized Board/University
Other Requirements
- Must be a citizen of India
- Must possess Domicile/PRC of the State/UT applied for (except Assam candidates, WPR)
- Male Height: 170 cms (General), Female Height: 157 cms (General)
- Male Chest: 80 cms unexpanded, 5 cms expansion
The educational qualification must be acquired on or before 01-01-2026.

Correction Charges: ₹200 for the first time and ₹500 for the second time.
Selection Process

Computer Based Examination (CBE)
80 Questions, 160 Marks. Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning, GK, Mathematics, English/Hindi. Duration: 60 mins. Negative marking: 0.25 marks.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Race: Male (5km in 24min) / Female (1.6km in 8.5min). For Ladakh: Male (1.6km in 7min) / Female (800m in 5min).

Physical Standard Test (PST)
Measurement of Height, Weight, and Chest (for males).

Medical Examination & DV
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Document Verification.

- Upload scanned signature (10-20 KB)
- Exercise preference for all 7 forces (BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF) carefully

- Category Certificate (if applicable)

NCC Certificate Incentives
NCC 'C' Certificate: 5% of max marks. NCC 'B' Certificate: 3% of max marks. NCC 'A' Certificate: 2% of max marks.
