- BC / EBC (Male & Female): 3 years (Max age 40 years)
- Unreserved (Female): 3 years (Max age 40 years)
- SC / ST (Male & Female): 5 years (Max age 42 years)
- Bihar Health Service Cadre: 5 years (5 years relaxation in category)
- Divyang (PWD): 10 years (10 years relaxation in max age limit)
Educational Qualification
- Post Graduate Degree (Master's) in Subject Specific from MCI / NMC Recognized
- Diploma in Subject Specific from Recognized Institute

Other Requirements
- Must be a citizen of India
- For Diploma holders: 10 marks weightage given equivalent to PG degree, but placed below PG degree holders in merit.
- Candidates who have completed 3-year tenure in a subject are not eligible for the same subject again.
- 40% posts for Bihar State Health Service Cadre members.
- 40% posts for State Medical College graduates (Residency Scheme).
- 20% posts for graduates from recognized institutions outside the state.
Diploma qualification is considered only if there is a shortage of eligible PG Degree candidates.
